Frequently asked questions
Do I get root access?
Yes. Every instance is a full Linux KVM machine with root SSH, so you can install any package, run Docker, and open the ports you need. There is no locked-down panel in the way.
How am I billed?
Each plan has a flat monthly or yearly price, in the currency you pick, on the same invoice as your game servers. We do not bill by the hour, and each plan lists its traffic allowance up front instead of billing you for it later.
Is a public IPv4 included?
Yes, by default. Each new Cloud Compute server can take one public IPv4 at no extra charge, as long as it stays attached as the primary address. Turn it off at checkout if you only need the VNC console. Extra addresses you order later from Networking are billed monthly. A server in a location with IPv6 also gets an IPv6 /64 at no charge.
Can I resize later?
Yes. Move to a plan with more memory when the workload grows, and your disk, data, and IP address come with you.
Are backups included?
Yes. The panel has snapshots and backups, so you can save a working state before an upgrade and restore it if something breaks. If you lock yourself out, use rescue mode.
Is it protected against attacks?
Yes. Cloud instances use the same attack filtering as our game servers. It is on by default, and there is no add-on to buy.
Can I run a Minecraft or game server on this?
You can. Our game plans already include the panel, one-click server software, and manual backups and snapshots for game servers. Choose Cloud when you want a plain Linux server to build on. Both bill through the same account.
What if I need a whole machine?
Then you want Bare Metal: dedicated hardware, quoted for your workload, for when you cannot share a host. It bills through the same account, so you can run both side by side.
