Frequently asked questions
Do I get root access?
Yes. Every instance is a full Linux KVM machine with root SSH, so you can install any package, run Docker, and open the ports you need. There is no locked-down panel in the way.
How am I billed?
A flat monthly or yearly price per plan, in the currency you pick, on the same invoice as your game servers. No hourly metering, and each plan lists its traffic allowance up front rather than billing you for it later.
Is a public IPv4 included?
Yes by default. Each new Cloud Compute server can take one included public IPv4 at no extra charge while it stays attached as the primary address. Turn it off at checkout if you only need the VNC console. Extra addresses ordered later from Networking are billed monthly.
Can I resize later?
Yes. Move up the memory ladder when the workload grows — your disk, data, and IP address come with you.
Are backups included?
You get snapshots and backups from the panel, so you can capture a known-good state before an upgrade and restore it if something breaks. Rescue mode is there for the times you lock yourself out.
Is it protected against attacks?
Yes. Cloud instances sit behind the same attack filtering as our game fleet, on by default, with no extra add-on to buy.
Can I run a Minecraft or game server on this?
You can, but you do not have to. Our game plans already include the panel, one-click server software, and backups tuned for game servers. Choose Cloud when you want a plain Linux box to build on. Both bill through the same account.
What if I need a whole machine?
That is Bare Metal — dedicated hardware quoted for your workload when sharing a host is not an option. It bills through this same account, so you can run both side by side.
